Students participated in an experiment on prejudice last week where some students were given a green star and granted privileges, whereas others were not. The experiment was based on the documentary Blue Eye, Brown Eye, done after the death of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968. Since 1968 this experience has been recreated in many classrooms. Although student reactions differ greatly in 2015, some remain the same. Ask your child what similarities and differences were seen.
