Halloween Requests

On Thursday, October 29th, our 4th graders will be participating in pumpkin math.
At 10:25 in the morning we will complete a pumpkin math activity.  You may have seen this activity before.  Students will work in small groups to estimate, count, and measure a pumpkin. Then they will design a jack-o-lantern face and finally carve their design into the pumpkin. We need your help with this!

Here are some areas where we would really appreciate parent help:
Volunteers to come in and help with the pumpkin math project: carving, scooping, working with a group of 3 or 4 students – it’s a messy (but fun) job - Thursday morning (October 29) from 10:25 – 11:30 a.m.
We are also looking for parents to donate pumpkins for our activity.  We would need about 6 per class for this project. It works best if they are the larger, “American” pumpkins since they are much easier to carve.  We would need the pumpkins by the morning of the 29th, but earlier is also fine.

If you would like to volunteer for one or both of the above requests, please send a note with your child or send an email to the teacher.

Thanks in advance for your help!
