Maracujá Timeline

Use the following timeline to organize your time wisely. On June 3rd, you will share your learning based on your Maracujá question. Therefore, you will need to use some time outside of class to continue researching, practicing, reflecting on your progress and planning for your presentation.

Literacy

Students are busy drafting and revising their trade and economy books. Our goal is to be published by next Friday, April 8th. As we finish putting the final touches on our book; adding conclusions and text features, we will be looking closely at language conventions such as punctuation, spelling, and capitalization.

Math

Fourth grade will be begin Unit 7 on Monday. The unit is titled: Fractions and Their Uses; Chance and Probability. During the first week, we will review basic fraction concepts and look at fractions of sets. Thank you to all parents who signed up to work with students doing enrichment projects. Students, continue to sharpen your skills by practicing your math facts and by playing the following math games.

Units of Study

Students are hard at work on their trade and economy books! They are using their draft writing and research notes from our various speakers, reading research on trade, and subtopic research on trade and economy through the lens of Brazil to complete their writing. Students are working to combine their knowledge from using text features from our reading informational text unit to “pop out” important information to grab their reader’s attention and demonstrate their abilities to write interesting informational texts from our writing unit.
