We started exploring the wonderful world of poetry in humanities! The question that will guide our thinking is: How do author's use figurative language and how does it challenge our thinking?
Throughout this mini-unit, your child will be learning about figurative language. You can help support your child at home by reading poetry, listening to music, and checking out the figurative language rap together!

Students are also growing as readers as they look for examples in their independent reading books for figurative language. They browsed poetry books earlier this week for metaphors and similes and are now working on exploring how author's use personification and hyperbole in stories.
