This week in humanities, we will begin a new read aloud called Seedfolks by Paul Fleischman.
Students will understand that...
- An individual can have an impact, large or small, on their community.
- Our communities include various cultures.
- Communities have an impact on individuals.
- Individuals have the power to change the world around them.
Students will learn about individuals who have affected their communities and the affect a community has on the behavior and understanding of an individual. After we finish the read aloud, students will use their knowledge of community and individual influence to make a difference within their own community and reflect on their experiences.
