Weekend Reading & Sentence Stems

Grade 5's have been working hard on writing about their reading this week. We have been working in small groups working and brainstorming on how to build our ideas by using sentence stems that structure our ideas.



We are working on using evidence in our work- take a look at the writing we did in small groups and see the ideas flow, grow and sound pulled together.

This weekend, Grade 5's set themselves homework for reading with intention.
1. They chose a question that focuses their reading on character, setting or problem.
2. They set themselves some reading goals or how much they will read.
3. They will use the sentence stems and evidence to write about their reading in a paragraph that answers their focus question.
