Something new and exciting happened in Grade 5 this week that will change the students' success into transitioning to middle school- we moved the lockers into the classroom.
Teachers and students are adjusting now to lockers inside the classroom which we moved to;
* help students to organize their materials
* give them a space of their own that is not crowded
* allow student the independence while still holding them accountable to being organized with their belongings
* creating a safe environment for students
* being mindful to the needs of students to have time to organize their materials in a thoughtful way
Today, students move their belongings into their lockers and organized all their materials. Students discussed locker agreements that put the responsibility in the students' hands. The transition to middle school is going to be a smooth one with this change.
We are looking forward to you seeing them during Student Led Conferences this Friday and Monday!
