Your fifth grader now knows more about their circulatory and digestive system. Ask them to describe exactly what goes on in their body. You will hear about various organs and how they work together to function effectively. Throughout this process there were many investigations that included measuring how long our small intestine is, filtering sand to simulate our kidneys, and breaking crackers and adding vinegar to simulate our stomach. In addition, literacy was incorporated through a RAFT writing activity and an illustrated poem. They will be hanging inside and outside the class. Stop by and take a look.
