Today both classes met with our visiting author Sara Holbrook . We learned that the great thing about poetry is that there is no right or wrong way to do it. But a good poem is one that can be shared with others to discover they like it too.
Coming back from our workshop our students shared that a poem doesn’t need to rhyme, it can be free verse or other poetry type. A poem can be also about anything. From love to human cells! Students are now working in poetry that engages with scientific and mathematical constructs. They have started working on a poem related to our science topic: How Do Human Cells Get What They Need to Survive?.
