Models and Designs. The Black Box Challenge.

All Grade 5 students continue working on models and designs. The Black box challenge we worked at school today provided experiences that develop the concept of a scientific model and engaged students in design and construction. The atmosphere generated by this science unit is one of open discussion, free exchange of ideas, and development of ideas into products. Here is some important vocabulary we are learning in Science. 

Students are expected to use the words from the word bank in the reflection they are writing on their science journal to answer our class question:

How does collaboration help scientists find out about black boxes? 

We are reading interesting articles at school, students can also listen to the audio stories at home and extend their learning playing this engaging online activity.
