Unit 2 Math - Adding and Subtracting Whole Numbers

Today we started Unit 2 - in math. We reviewed the importance of knowing addition and subtraction fact families.  Each student received 2 sets of fact triangles (flash cards) to use to study with at home.  Please keep these cards handy to help your child practice these facts. The goal would be for students to be able to say the answer quickly, within 5-10 seconds.  If your child needs extra time or makes a mistake keep these cards in the pile to practice. It's important for students to have a strong number sense with addition and subtraction facts.  Practicing these type of facts on Mathletics is also another option.
