Students ended third grade by creating their own Google Slides yearbook. We used our Flickr account to collect photos and put them into our yearbooks. We then learned how to embed the code into this blog post so we could share our memories with you!

Biography Show Success!
Today our class presented their biography show! Congratulations to all students who worked hard to study their chosen changemaker and then present their learning to an audience of parents. Our student driven show was a reflection of our learning this year. Parents and teachers a like are very proud of these young learners and changemakers. They have such a wonderful life ahead of them! Coffee Farm Field Trip!
how the coffee beans were harvested from the plants and had the chance to authentically sift a pile of beans from debris of leaves and sticks. Next, we learned how the beans were sorted and dried in the sun. In the big barn we saw the large machines that were used to finish the drying process and peel the skin off the
coffee bean fruit and one last quality sort. Finally, we saw how the coffee beans were stored and roasted. Before lunch we went for a 4.4 km hike on the trail around the coffee farm. For many students this was the first time they had this kind of experience. Crossing over a stream on a log bridge, ducking under twisted branches, avoiding ant hills, observing nature, spotting: old bee hives, forest mushrooms, fallen shells of bird eggs, twisted branches of trees ready to climb other trees nearby. As we made our way back to the farm, students had to avoid cow droppings and jump across a good sized puddle that was in our path. Bebel, the farm's owner received us with a tasty lunch of rice & beans, spagetti with meatballs, chicken, salad, and jello. As we finished lunch and bought our coffee we made our way onto the buses and back to school. Thank you parents for getting your children to school early so this trip could be possible.

3B Assembly !
This morning our class hosted the last assembly for Community B. All students were involved in planning and performing short skits about how we have been responsible Graded students. MATH NEWS!
Unit 9 is one of the three units in Everyday Math that focuses on the important skills of multiplication and division. In this unit, we will focus on a partial-products algorithm for multiplying 1- and 2-digit numbers, as well as develop readiness skills for division. In addition, students will review important concepts such as remainders in division and positive and negative numbers. So, the main areas of focus are:
- to multiply and divide with multiples of 10, 100, and 1,000.
- to use mental math to multiply,
- to share money, and
- to find products of 2-digit numbers.
We ask that you help your child practice his/her multiplication facts at home and thank you for the support in this matter! The sooner the students learn their facts, the quicker and more confident in Math they become. Thank you!

Portuguese
In Portuguese class I am watching the second movie of Sito de pica pal amarelo, I could not watch the first one. Because that won is in black and white, it would be boring. The characters are Emilia, Dona Benta, Tia Nastacia, Narizinho, Pedrinho, Tio Barnabe, Saçi, Cuca, Quimdim, Consereiro, Rábico, Porquinho. I have not finished the movie yet, but I will maybe on Wensday.
