Chapter 9 begins with Robert sick in bed with the
flu. The Number Devil decides that this will be a
quiet evening. There is a review of topics previously discussed: prime numbers, triangle and square numbers, the Fibonacci sequence, square roots and the order of operations.
To extend the learning students are working on the Math Journal pages 219, 220, 222, 223
and
preparing a presentation on PEMDAS to share with the class. Please, feel free to go back to previous chapters and re-read if you think you need it. Using your old sticky notes with main ideas or reviewing your math journal are probably good ideas too. Here are some creative ways to present your topic:
